The Kirtimukha Silver Nakkasi Pendant

An intricate pendant from our antique temple jewellery collection with the figure of `Kirtimukha' (glory-face or grotesque-mask that wards off the evil) .This fierce-looking, swallowing monster face with huge fangs, and gaping-mouth head with its tongue sticking out is extensively used as a decorative motif surmounting the pinnacle; doorways of temples or the images of deities in south Indian architecture. According to mythology Kirtimukha was created from the third-eye of Lord Shiva and is symbolic of the self-destructive nature of the unbridled ego-self in us.

Studded with `kempu' (red) stones the entire piece is crafted in pure Sterling Silver (92.5%) and dipped in 24 karat gold.

everyday. Gold polish will fade with regular use and frequent exposure to air and water and will need re-plating/polishing.

has to be stored in an airtight plastic cover away from
moisture, water and sweat. Proper storage will ensure that the
gold-finish, rhodium or rose-gold plating stays for a long time.
*We gold-plate our jewellery with 24 carat gold which gives it a real gold look. We do not use lacquer or other harmful chemicals.

*Avoid wearing jewellery while cooking, household cleaning,
bathing or swimming .
